Greetings

The history of the Japanese honeybee is long, and it is said to have inhabited the Japanese archipelago since the time when the islands were connected to the continent by land.

Eventually, their delicious taste was monopolized by those in power, and during the Nara Period (around the time of the Emperor Kōkyoku), the technique of hollowing out old trees and nesting them to collect honey took root. This technique lasted for a long time and continued until the mid-Edo period. Later, it evolved into a stacked box-type hive with many layers of stacked boxes.

At that time, honey was a super-precious commodity for only a privileged few and was especially used for medicinal purposes.

During the Meiji era (1868-1912), inexpensive Western honey bees were imported from Europe and the United States, and honey finally became available to the general public.

In recent years, however, the number of rare insects has been drastically reduced due to the destruction of nature and overexploitation of green spaces in many parts of the world, and the Japanese honeybee has been reduced to one step short of an endangered species.

The honeybee is a very valuable and beneficial insect for mankind. Thanks to their pollination work, honeybees provide one-third of the food on the planet.

We have been protecting and nurturing these important Japanese honeybees for 17 years in the middle of a big city.

We hope that you will continue to support us with your warm cooperation and support.
